As part of our investment into IT facilities at school, we have recently upgraded our web filtering software. This software enables us to monitor students’ internet usage and blocks inappropriate websites. It also reports this information back to school – this is a very important tool for us from a safeguarding perspective.
When a student is using a personal Chromebook at home and logs into their school Google account, the web filtering software still monitors internet usage. Therefore, if a Chromebook is shared between family members, we advise you to log out of the student’s Google account before using it to ensure there is no potential disruption to your internet browsing. This applies to Chromebooks only, no other device.
