Life After Year 11
12/06/2020

For 20% of our students this half-term marks an exciting change from Year 11 to the next stage in their learning or training. This might be an apprenticeship or traineeship, college or sixth form to study A Levels or vocational/technical courses. Whatever you have decided, or even if you haven’t yet made up your mind, this booklet is here to help. The booklet below from Blackburn with Darwen will help school leavers during this transition.

Corona Virus brought school for Year 11s to an abrupt end, so careers staff have been unable to support you as much as they like. The booklet below contains information on colleges, sixth forms, and training providers, as well as who to contact at each organisation.

Not all apprenticeship providers are listed, However, the Lancashire Forum provide support for apprenticeships across all of Lancashire, and will be happy to help and can be emailed at: info@lancsforum.co.uk

New Directions Careers Service are keen to support school leavers and offer one-to-one guidance over the phone. They have up to date information on all providers and can help with applications. They can be contacted by phone on: 01254 666424 or email: newdirections@blackburn.gov.uk

If Year 11 leavers are unsure what to do next, this booklet will give them ideas on activities to help prepare for Year 12, and what support is on offer. So please click the link below and have a read.
