Two groups of Year 9 students from BCHS took part in the annual Ogden Trust Physics Olympics, hosted by Witton Park Academy.
The Ogden Trust is a charity set up to promote physics to young people. 10 groups from 5 local high schools took part in physics challenges designed to inspire students to study physics.
The challenges included ‘weigh the Power Ranger’, which was harder than it sounds, ‘fruit batteries’ to determine the amount of voltage you can get from a piece of fruit and ‘build a tower’ to hold as much mass as possible.
The students also had to post a Pringle and receive it in one piece – easier said than done, so well done BCHS Alpha Team for successfully completing the challenge! All students enjoyed the event and look forward to returning next year.
