Youth Games

A group of Year 7 and 8 students were selected to represent Blackburn with Darwen at the Lancashire Youth Games 2017, at Stanley Park in Blackpool on Tuesday 4th July.

We took a team of footballers and a team of orienteerers who all worked extremely well together even though they had never played together before. They showed great team work and commitment and made sure they enjoyed every minute of the Games.

It was a great opportunity for the students and in seeing them laughing and smiling together it was clear each of them thoroughly enjoyed their day despite the mid-afternoon torrential downpour. They even met Ian Coleman, Mayor of Blackpool who stopped to chat with the students and pose for a quick snap. The students should be really proud of themselves as they represented the school and themselves extremely well.

Congratulations to Seerat, Michael, Nathan, Rashi, Dylan, Courtney, Sophie, Natalie, Luke, Filip, Frankie, Robert, Soeb, Farha and Zoe.
