From the Head – End of Term Letter

10/12/2015

RE: End of term arrangements

We would like to remind all parents / carers that we close on Friday 18th December 2015 at 1.45pm for the Christmas holidays.

For students who are entitled to a free – lunch, meals will be available from the restaurant during an extended morning break and this will be confirmed with students in school.

I would like to thank all parents, carers and staff for their support and remind you that we have BCHS  GOT TALENT show on Wednesday 16th December 6pm – 7.30pm.

In the New Year we will send home our One Voice magazine highlighting all the events that have taken place. Our students have been involved in a range of different activities from a Grandparent’s Coffee Morning, Interfaith Conference, links with other schools, trips, fund raising and many more activities.

Coats

Now that winter is upon us please ensure your son/daughter wears an outdoor coat. We do have

Pac-A-Mac raincoats with the school logo at a cost of £7 .If you wish to purchase one, please contact the company: “Uniform for less” directly.

Adverse weather

In the event of heavy snow please refer to our school website for the school opening times. We always aim to be open although sometimes we may have to delay the opening until 10.30am.

Exams

Year 11 are just completing their mock exams and in January some students will begin their actual exams. A list of which is over the page and on the school website. Please ensure if your son/daughter does have an exam in January, that they use the Christmas holiday to prepare.

Traffic management

The volume of traffic at the start and end of the school day is beginning to cause some concern. Could I please encourage parents to use the turning circle on the level below the staff car park when dropping off students and avoid using the lower area which are disabled parking bays. If the matter does not improve then the lower area may need to be blocked off to parents completely. Students are encouraged to walk wherever possible or be dropped off outside the grounds and “park and stride” to school. If you must drive into the grounds please ensure the 5 mph speed limit is adhered to.

Students should return to school on Tuesday 5th January 2016 at the normal time of 8.30am. The Breakfast club will be available from 8.00am as usual

Should you have any additional queries or questions please do not hesitate to contact the school on the telephone number below.

Merry Christmas to our student and families who will be celebrating this event and to all our student and families I wish you all a restful and happy break.

Yours sincerely

Mrs D Atkinson

Headteacher
