As we come to the end of another busy and successful year the weather is warming up and hopefully summer is arriving in time for the start of our summer holidays.
Please read and share with your friends and neighbours our One Voice newsletter. This highlights many of the activities and events we have taken part in over the last few months.
We have said goodbye to our Year 11 students who have worked so hard attending many extra classes preparing to do their best in their exams. The final assembly was tinged with emotion as we looked back over their time at BCHS. We are proud to have played our part in helping them to grow and mature into caring and adorable young men and women. We welcome them back for their results on Thursday 25th August at 10am.
Thank you for choosing BCHS for your son or daughter. We are delighted that in September 2016 we are full in years 7 and 8 with only a few places left in years 9, 10 and 11. My focus with all our students remains on very high expectations which include: attendance, uniform, behaviour and quality of work. I would like to ask you to support us in ensuring your son/daughter returns in full school uniform. Hair needs to be natural colours and dip dyed hair is not acceptable. Make up, false tans and false nails are also inappropriate for school.
Phones are not banned however, they need to be switched off and ear phones need to be in pockets and out of sight during the school day. If you need to contact your child during school hours you can contact the school office who will then pass on your message.
This July we say goodbye to a number of staff across the school that move into either new positions or new ventures in their lives. We wish all these staff the very best for their futures and thank them for their contributions to the success of BCHS. We also say goodbye to Mr Elliott who many of you may know either as past students or as parents. Mr Elliott retires as a senior leader and teacher of science after 20 years, I am sure you will join me in wishing him all the very best in his new ventures.
School will remain open for Summer School Monday 25th July – Wednesday 27th July. Please have a wonderful summer and stay safe. We look forward to welcoming you back on Thursday 1st September 2016.
