Department of Communities and Local Government Visit – Friday 15th January 2016

BCHS school at dusk

BCHS with Crosshill are looking forward to hosting a visit from Anna Wojtowicz and Pasha Shah, Senior Policy Advisors at the Department for Communities and Local Government, and Ismail Hasham, Cohesion Advisor for the Community Safety Team at Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.

The theme of the visit is around integration, and will be a good opportunity to discuss our vision, British Values and Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development, and well as having a chance to tour our award winning school building.

The Department for Communities and Local Government’s job is to create great places to live and work, and to give more power to local people to shape what happens in their area.

They are responsible for supporting local government by giving them the power to act for their community; helping communities and neighbourhoods to solve their own problems so neighbourhoods are strong, attractive and thriving; working with local enterprise partnerships and enterprise zones to help the private sector grow; making the planning system work more efficiently and effectively; and supporting local fire and rescue authorities so that they’re able to respond to emergencies and reduce the number and impact of fires.
