BAE Systems and RAF Education Roadshow

23/10/2015

BAE Group

This term Year 7 and Year 8 students were treated to a visit from BAE Systems and the RAF for part of STEM activity day. The programme was devised because of the acknowledgement that there is a shortfall of ‘home grown’ scientists and engineers to meet the needs of the country. The roadshow consisted of various performances ranging from lasers, gyroscopes, sensing technology, pedal power (dynamos), Theremin, virtual reality, magnetism and sound pressure (Ruben’s tube).

Vanessa from BAE said “the quality and behaviour of students were absolutely spectacular.” We all had a lovely morning and the students really enjoyed themselves and got stuck in when it came to going up and volunteering for activities.
