Students visit world famous library

Our student librarians had an incredible visit to the world-famous Chetham’s Library in Manchester, the oldest public library in Britain, open to all since 1653 and in continuous use for over 350 years.

The day began with a trip to Waterstones, where students used their £10 vouchers to pick out books, followed by a meal at the Arndale Centre, before touring the historic library.

Pupils learnt about Humphrey Chetham’s vision of making education and access to books available to everyone.
