Wheelchairs donated to Hazeledene Care Home

Our students helped to deliver three wheelchairs to the residents of Hazeledene Care Home last Friday.

Earlier this year our students raised £1340 for Al-Imdaad Foundation UK. £300 of the money raised provided these much needed wheelchairs.

Nicola, Deputy Manager at Hazeldene said:

“It’s absolutely amazing that these have been bought for our residents. Some of them who have dementia can lose skills and their mobility. With these chairs, they will be able to, with staff, access different areas, and go outside and be part of the community. Thank you from everyone here.”

As well as providing wheelchairs, our students also raised enough money for 5 water hand pumps in Sri Lanka; plus 3 sewing machines, to help empower women in 3rd world countries; and 100 meals for local homeless or unwaged people.
