Virtual reality adventures in space was the theme for this year’s World Space Week. Year 7 students experienced The Education Group’s amazing “Solar Expedition” workshop.
Using virtual reality headsets our students blasted off and explored the galaxy, all from the safety of an immersive, simulated, learning world.
The workshop included a series of CGI films exploring interesting and unusual facts about the neighbouring planets and moons of our solar system.
The students were all impressed by Jupiter’s Great Red Spot; a hurricane that has been raging for over 350 years. Additionally they were surprised that the days on Mars are only 37 minutes longer than on Earth.
Above all this fascinating workshop will inspire the next generation of scientists and astronauts, who may one day blast off into space for real! When asked, the majority of our Year 7 students were keen to move to Mars if they had the opportunity.
