Lancaster Residential

Four lucky young Year 8 ladies from Blackburn Central High School attended a residential engineering event at The University of Lancaster.

The students worked with young people from across the country to design and build a remote controlled vehicle that would rescue ‘people’ (eggs), from different locations. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the visit, especially the disco, film night and formal dinner.

The objective of the event was to inspire young people to take up engineering and to consider university as an option. The young ladies from BCHS said they are all considering university and may well choose engineering.
