Mrs Tattersall, Mrs Sange and Mr Donaldson took 40 Year 11 students to the Liverpool docks and Tate Art Gallery.
First the students visited the Merseyside Maritime Museum, where they learnt about the trade industry; they also saw an exhibition on contraband products, which were often smuggled into the Liverpool docks.
Next they visited the International Slavery Museum, in which they learnt how the docks were used to trade slaves in the early 1900s.
Finally the group took in the amazing modern and contemporary art exhibitions at the Tate gallery. The exhibitions included work by Pablo Picasso, Damian Hurst and Wassily Kandinsky.
