Small Stage, Big Talent Performing Arts Show at Blackburn Central

Small Stage Big Talent

On Wednesday night students from Blackburn Central High School took part in Small Stage, Big Talent. This evening showcased the amazing talent in our school, with acts ranging from singing to instrumental performances and dance routines.

The event was organised by our Year 11 Music class as part of their coursework. The students were responsible for all aspects of the evening, and performed job roles organising the event and on show night. These included presenting the show, accompanying performances, plus operating the lighting and sound boards.

After auditions in September, Year 11 students have been mentoring acts to ensure every single performance is of the highest quality.

The panel of judges consisted of Headteacher Mrs Atkinson, Deputy Headteacher Mrs Hussain, and Year 11 student Vanessa. They had a very difficult task of choosing the winners but eventually decided on: (drum roll)

  • 3rd Place: Amber 10A – piano performance
  • 2nd Place: Adam 10A – dance
  • 1st Place: Nicole 9E – vocal and piano accompaniment

Well done to all the students who took part for all their hard work and amazing performances.
