Blackburn with Darwen primary school students found out what secondary school place they were offered last weekend. Parents can log on to the Blackburn with Darwen Parent Portal to view the result of their child’s application.

If your child has been refused a secondary school place at a BCHS, their name is added to a waiting list. If places become available, they will be filled from the waiting list in priority order. The waiting list will remain open until December 2019.

Right of Appeal

If your child has been refused a secondary school place at Blackburn Central High School and you wish to appeal, please email admissions@blackburn.gov.uk for an appeal form.

March 31st 2019 is the closing date for receipt of appeal forms for appeals to be held in May 2019.

Changing schools during the academic year

A child admitted as a Year 7 student will remain in that school until age 16. Occasionally, parents may consider a change of school.
