Safeguarding & Welfare Officer

30 hours per week over 4 days Monday to Friday (days to be agreed), 8:00am to 4:00pm, term time plus one additional week

Salary: Band F, points 25 to 29 @ £11.98 to £13.72 per hour for actual weeks worked

We are looking to appoint a suitably enthusiastic and experienced individual as a Safeguarding & Welfare Officer for a fixed-term contract to cover a Maternity Leave. The role is to support pupils who attend Blackburn Central High School in the development of safeguarding and child protection policies, training and procedures and guidance.

Additionally, the post is to assist in the coordination of referrals, arranging action and reviewing services for children and families. Ensuring there are policies, procedures, systems, structures, resources and personnel in place to promote the welfare and protection of children to support vulnerable families.

The post is to actively work jointly with parents/carers and other agencies through joint planning, training and monitoring of their arrangements for the safeguarding of children.

The appointed person will contribute to the development of a strong, effective school with an emphasis on aspiration and attainment.
