Our Year 11 students attended a talk by guest speaker Tim Cahill, Assistant Principal from Runshaw College.
Tim explained about lateralisation of brain function; The idea that the two halves of the brain are functionally different, and that each hemisphere has functional specialisations. e.g. the left is dominant for language, and the right excels at visual motor tasks.
The students learnt whether they were left-brain or right-brain dominant, and how they could use this knowledge to help in their revision and preparation for exams.
Also the students completed different scenarios and listened to case studies.
Our students all took something from this inspiration speech by Tim Cahill of Runshaw College, for use in their upcoming exams.
