Petty Office Jamie Marples and Leading Hand Kim Barber, from the Royal Navy Logistics Branch, spent time with some of our Catering and Hospitality students.
They talked about their roles in the Navy whilst showing our students how to cook a delicious duck breast in plumb sauce, with broccoli and potatoes. Jamie is a chef, and Kim a steward, although they have secondary roles in the Navy, fireman and medic respectively.
Kim and Jamie answered the many questions fielded by our fascinated students; including details of career pathways and the accelerated apprentice options available to Navy personnel.
Overall, this was a very interesting cooking demonstration, and a revealing look at life in the Royal Navy.
