Lockdown Changes from 4th July 2020
25/06/2020

From Saturday 4th July, lockdown measures will ease in England so that people can see more of their friends and family, and get people back to work. What does this mean?

Two households will be able to meet up in any setting with social distancing measures (2m away from each other).

Some leisure facilities and tourist attractions will reopen – including outdoor gyms and playgrounds, cinemas, museums, galleries, theme parks and arcades, as well as libraries, social clubs, places of worship and community centres.

The Prime Minister also said that where it is not possible to stay two metres apart, guidance will allow people to keep a social distance of ‘one metre plus’. This means staying one metre apart, plus mitigations which reduce the risk of transmission (such as masks, PPE, etc).

Pubs, restaurants, barbers and hairdressers will be able to reopen, if they follow COVID Secure guidelines. “Close proximity” venues such as soft-play areas, indoor gyms, swimming pools, water parks, bowling alleys and spas will remain closed for now.

We must continue to follow social distancing guidelines to keep coronavirus under control.

What will change at school from 4th July 2020?

Nothing initially, but the government wants all students to return to school in September 2020 and will publish further guidance on this.

We will continue providing face-to-face support for Year 10 students, and remain open to students who are vulnerable, or are children of key workers. If you'd like your child to come back to Blackburn Central High School please phone 01254 505700 or email info@bchs.co.uk.
