Once again Miss Leake is selling students and staff her famous glittery poppies in support of Remembrance Sunday.
These amazing poppies are just £1 each, and all money raised goes towards The Royal British Legion. Last year Blackburn Central High School raised £200, fingers-crossed this year we can earn even more.
From 1921 the red poppy became the emblem of Remembrance Day due to the poem “In Flanders Fields” written by Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae. Poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in World War I, and their brilliant red colour became a symbol for the blood spilled in the war.
Please join us in remembering the fallen on Sunday 10th November 2019.
