Thank you to the Blackburn with Darwen Interfaith Forum who came into BCHS for a Year 10 Humanities question and answer session.
Representatives from the Christian, Jewish, Islamic and Buddhist faiths make up the Interfaith Forum.
Our Humanities students posed some thought-provoking questions to the panel, about such topics as the afterlife, helping others, human rights, and the roles of women and men in worship.
Associate Head Teacher, Shanaz Hussain said “Prejudice comes from ignorance, and it is through these kinds of discussions that barriers are broken down. We are proud of the culture of understanding that our students show each other, and this is often commented on by those who visit our school.”
Additionally, we are proud that this is the second year we have hosted this event, allowing our students to broaden their knowledge of some of the many religions and faiths available to them.
