Inter Faith Forum at Blackburn Central High School

Inter Faith Forum

A group of outstanding Year 10 Religious Studies students at Blackburn Central High School had the opportunity to ask representatives from the Inter Faith Forum questions about their religions, in the presence of the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Pat McFall, school governors and other distinguished guests.

To recognise Inter-Faith Week, BCHS with Crosshill arranged a forum type setting in which students asked thought provoking questions to Richard Foster, representing Buddhism; John Howard-Norman, Christianity; Baldeep Hungim, Sihkism; Ashok Chudasama, Hinduism and Ismail Satiya, Islam.

“With BCHS being a multi-nationality school, with many different languages and faiths, it is important that we celebrate our similarities and learn about our differences, break down barriers and gain a mutual respect and deeper understanding of each other’s cultures.” said Ms Rathore, Year 7 Pastoral Manager and Community Lead.
