Education Welfare Benefits
Education welfare benefits are free school meals for children where the families receive:
- Income Support
- Income based job seekers allowance
- Child tax credit (but not working tax credit), and their annual taxable income is £16,190 or less
- Universal Credit
Children of asylum seekers or unaccompanied asylum seeking children are also entitled for free school meals
If you are not claiming housing benefits and/or council tax you may still be entitled to Free School Meals, so please apply using the link below.
Free School Meals
A free meal, provided by the school, which is paid for out of the Education benefit fund and administered alongside housing and council tax benefit. The school will be notified of your entitlement.
