Last week a group of our Year 10 students attended three Health and Medicine workshops at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN).
These workshops were the first of three sessions entitled ‘Access to the Professions’.
The first workshop was based in a mock hospital ward, where students learned basic first aid, including CPR, dressing wounds, and human anatomy.
Finally, during the second and third workshops our students discovered what it is like to be a junior doctor, and what an ophthalmologist does for a living.
Two more sessions will follow later this year, which will include workshops focused on media and the law.
