To celebrate the strong links we have with family and community, BCHS with Crosshill held our third Grandparents’ Day.
Students were asked to invite older members of their family into school, to have a cup of tea and a chat with staff and other grandparents in a relaxed and informal setting. They were then given tours of the school by Lead Students, and staff were on hand to answer any questions they had.
We received wonderful feedback from our visitors:
“The school really does feel like a family.”
“The behaviour and conduct of the pupils has been impeccably impressive. The values of mutual respect, tolerance and understanding were clearly embedded within the pupils and was witnessed in the manner in which they conducted themselves as they took us on the tours of the school.”
“It is wonderful to have the opportunity to be invited to our grandchild’s school. I was so excited I couldn’t sleep!”
Thank you to everybody who joined Blackburn Central High School for this day of celebration.
