This week all of our Year 10 students experienced college life at a Blackburn College Taster Day.
Our students got some first hand experience of some of the courses Blackburn College offer. They took part in lessons including Health and Social Care, Sport, Media, Media Makeup, and Catering.
All of our students enjoyed the Blackburn College taster, and most are keen to continue on to further education once they complete their studies at Blackburn Central.
We received from great feedback from college staff, who were impressed with the levels of engagement and commitment to the activities by our students.
Year 10 students will apply for their college courses and apprenticeships next term. Careers advice and guidance is available from Mrs Ansbro (independent careers adviser), Mrs Reeves, Mr Farooq and Mrs Jowett.
Predicted GCSE grades will be required by any post-16 education provider, so it is vital that all students aspire to reach their target grades and beyond, to have the best choice of pathway as they leave school.
