BCHS Students on BBC North West Tonight Evening News

At the end of an eventful day where Blackburn Central High School was visited by Good Morning Britain and The Guardian newspaper, students ended up being interviewed by Dave Guest on BBC North West Tonight.

The media attention at BCHS with Crosshill was due to our school being a model of what the government hopes to achieve with their newly announced Integrated Communities Strategy.

Bradford, Blackburn, Peterborough, Walsall and Waltham Forest in London have been selected to pilot the scheme with the aim of improving community relations over the next two years.

The strategy includes schemes to encourage students to form lasting relationships with those from different backgrounds, boost English language skills, increase opportunities for women and promote British values in education.

Our students appear in this video on iPlayer from the 11 minute 20 second mark. Please not this video will only be available for the next week.
