BCHS Has Got Talent

In December Blackburn Central High School opened its doors for our annual talent show.

As always the night proved to be very popular with a packed crowd filling the heart of the school. Acts included vocalists, beatboxers, alongside guitar and piano players. The different acts were linked together by four student presenters who ensured the smooth running of the show whilst adding humour and a touch of their own talents in between the acts.

Guest judges included the Mayor and Mayoress of Blackburn, Headteacher Mrs Atkinson, Deputy Head Mrs Hussain and Sue Monigham from the charity Child Action North West.

The joint runners up were Rebecca 10F and Kirstie 11C, but the overall winner was the very talented Gemma 8A, who broke the audiences hearts with her rendition of the song “Lost Boy”, the debut single by Canadian singer Ruth B

The evening raised an amazing £300 for Child Action North West. BCHS would like to thank everyone who attended the show, and everybody who performed or helped out during the evening. We look forward to seeing more talent from our young people in 2017.

On top of the money raised via the talent show, the BCHS school choir went carolling in Asda, Blackburn and managed to raise an extra£100 for Child Action North West.
