Mrs Jowett and our Careers Team held a another great careers fair for Year 10 and 11 students on Wednesday.
Students were able to question visitors from industry and further education, raise their aspirations, and plan for their futures.
Local employers, colleges, sixth-forms, and apprenticeship schemes were in attendance to promote opportunities available to high school graduates. These included Blackburn College, Burnley College, QEGS Sixth Form, Blackburn Rovers Sports College, Accrington and Rossendale College, Myerscough College, Runshaw College, Cardinal Newman College, the Army, Training 2000, the NHS, Beever and Struthers, Darwen Aldridge Community Academy and Studio School.
The event was opened up to parents after school, so they could be involved in discussions of their children’s futures and receive careers advice themselves.
The feedback from visitors and students was very positive, with students engaged and feeling that the event helped them to understand the entry requirements for different courses, and alternative choices that they may not have considered before.
