Writers and producers from Channel 4’s hit TV show Ackley Bridge paid a visit to Blackburn Central High School to gain inspiration for the next series.
Ackley Bridge is a British television drama series set in the fictional school and Yorkshire mill town of the same name, which highlights the lives of staff and students at the multicultural academy school.
The series follows the merger of two schools in a segregated British and Pakistani community exploring “the turbulent school experience, covering the challenges of prejudice and cultural issues in the school environment, as well as the humour, relationships and conflict had by the pupils, teachers and parents.”
Whilst here, the producers and writers sat in a number of classes, and spoke with staff and students.
Some of our students also had the chance to work with the award winning scriptwriters in their English lessons during the day.
Episodes of the show are available to watch on the Channel 4 website.
